Macy’s Recap

Dear Band Families,

I really don’t know where to start when I think about how to recap the band’s trip to New York .

The students performed to the absolute best of their ability. 40,000,000 people saw our NBC televised moment (which came across spectacularly) but even along the 3 mile parade route the kids looked and sounded great.

Perhaps more importantly they represented our band program, school, community and their families with class. Whether it was at the New York Philharmonic Concert or at the hotel, we received numerous compliments from people who came in contact with our students and commented on what well behaved and polite young people they were.

Even the Greene Coach bus drivers, who have hauled us on band trips for more than 15 years, commented on how great this particular group of students behaved.

Thanks to the dozens of adults that helped make this trip run smoothly. Our band program would not be what it is without the help of so many dedicated parent volunteers. Your assistance makes each student’s experience more meaningful and that’s the most important aspect of your involvement.

It was a great ending to a tremendous fall season.

Happy Holidays!

Mr. Cook
